Ma petite Madeline

I love Moda! Moda gives me a ticket that no other fabric company offers. A few years ago while working on a Christmas quilt, I discovered that I did not have enough green to complete my project. I started hunting for a substitute, and soon discovered that many of the Moda lines complement each other. The shades are very similar, so adding a fabric from another Moda line will usually blend well enough to finish whatever project you are working on.

When I first saw the Schnibbles Madeline, I was taken with the red and taupe combination. But I did not have any French General fabric. After mulling over what to do, I decided that I would try to work this quilt in a red and beige combination. At Christmas time I was blessed by Kelly from Cotton Charm Quilts with a fat quarter bundle of Blessing fabric. Working with a Charm Pack that I had and the fabric Kelly sent to me, I also included bits of Wuthering Heights by Three Sisters, and a fabric I have had for years called Victoria Hills.

And so may I present to you "ma petite Madeline" -

Très bon!

I am joining amylouwho in Friday's Sew and Tell.

Oh, Jocelyn, that is such a beautiful quilt!! I love the color combinations, too. I don't sew a bit so I have the greatest admiration for those who do. Thank you so much, my friend, for stopping by to help me celebrate my birthday! Hope you have a terrific weekend! Vicki

Love Madeline. You are so right about the interrelationship among Moda fabrics. I have been whittling away at a box of Portobello Market and can always find other lines that match the colors. Hopefully I will have my Madeline done on Sunday.

Jocelyn, I love your color combination, reds are my favorite. Your quilt top is gorgeous. I love the Moda fabrics also, they use the same color dye shades so you can mix and match their prints. Smart move on their part, it's frustrating when you can't find a fabric match.

How innovative and beautiful Jocelyn! I love that pattern and you pulled together some great fabrics!

That turned out great! I like the beige better than the taupe too--it's warmer looking. Excellent job.

What a gorgeous quilt! I love your color combinations! I saw a lot of gorgeous Moda fabric a few days ago when my DIL, her Mom and I went to a nice quilt shop! I got the hearts jellyroll to do a quilt for my little granddaughter! I also found some Christmas fabric that I hope you like for your table topper! :o)

I love the Rouenneries, but I have seen so many Madelines made from it that they are all blending together in my mind - yours really stands out as a welcome tweak on a beautiful colour combination! Great Friday finish!
