I love Moda! Moda gives me a ticket that no other fabric company offers. A few years ago while working on a Christmas quilt, I discovered that I did not have enough green to complete my project. I started hunting for a substitute, and soon discovered that many of the Moda lines complement each other. The shades are very similar, so adding a fabric from another Moda line will usually blend well enough to finish whatever project you are working on.
When I first saw the Schnibbles Madeline, I was taken with the red and taupe combination. But I did not have any French General fabric. After mulling over what to do, I decided that I would try to work this quilt in a red and beige combination. At Christmas time I was blessed by Kelly from Cotton Charm Quilts with a fat quarter bundle of Blessing fabric. Working with a Charm Pack that I had and the fabric Kelly sent to me, I also included bits of Wuthering Heights by Three Sisters, and a fabric I have had for years called Victoria Hills.
And so may I present to you "ma petite Madeline" -
Très bon!

"ma petite Madeline" is such a lovely lady.
Oh, Jocelyn, that is such a beautiful quilt!! I love the color combinations, too. I don't sew a bit so I have the greatest admiration for those who do. Thank you so much, my friend, for stopping by to help me celebrate my birthday! Hope you have a terrific weekend! Vicki
Love Madeline. You are so right about the interrelationship among Moda fabrics. I have been whittling away at a box of Portobello Market and can always find other lines that match the colors. Hopefully I will have my Madeline done on Sunday.
Love this quilt...perfect!
Very cute! Your fabric selections are great! :-)

That is so very pretty! You did a good job with fabric selection AND sewing.
Love it! Red and Tan combo's are my absolute favorite. You are correct many Moda lines work great together. That's awesome that you got your Madeline quilt done.
I just love those colors as well....
I too, at first want to make Madeline with French General fabrics, but can't have it ! Your substitute choice is wonderful. I really love it !

WOW - very pretty, love the colors. I did the first month of the Schnibbles challenge. I'm thinking I might need to get back to it.
Madeline is lovely and looks so much richer in the deep red and taupes. LOVE IT!
Absolutely beautiful!
Wow, I'd never have guessed that the fabric came from different lines - it all goes together so well! Beautiful!
Wow. This is gorgeous!
I was sorting through all my fabric the other day and found so many pieces of MODA fabrics...so true about the colors/hues all matching. Your quilt is beautiful!

It looks great! I agree, the fabrics make a perfect match.
I love the fabrics together! Gorgeoous work!!
The colour combination is beautiful. Good job!
Wonderful job! I do so like your fabrics in this pattern. I agree that Moda fabrics work well with each other. You achieved the results you wanted with what you had. That's the spirit of quilting.Your quilt is gorgeous!
This color combo is lovely and the stars really show it off. Nice work!
Jocelyn, I love your color combination, reds are my favorite. Your quilt top is gorgeous. I love the Moda fabrics also, they use the same color dye shades so you can mix and match their prints. Smart move on their part, it's frustrating when you can't find a fabric match.
How innovative and beautiful Jocelyn! I love that pattern and you pulled together some great fabrics!
That turned out great! I like the beige better than the taupe too--it's warmer looking. Excellent job.
What a gorgeous quilt! I love your color combinations! I saw a lot of gorgeous Moda fabric a few days ago when my DIL, her Mom and I went to a nice quilt shop! I got the hearts jellyroll to do a quilt for my little granddaughter! I also found some Christmas fabric that I hope you like for your table topper! :o)
I love the Rouenneries, but I have seen so many Madelines made from it that they are all blending together in my mind - yours really stands out as a welcome tweak on a beautiful colour combination! Great Friday finish!
I really like this color combination and it suits the design well. Beautiful!
That is so beautiful. You love moda the same way I do :)
OH, Jocelyn! It is just B-E-A-utiful! You did a great job mixing and matching all of those fabrics! I love it, just love it!
My heart skipped three beats and the paramedics just left after they revived me. Well done. If that quilt goes missing it will be safe here in my home! I'm going to steal it.
Pat
Your Madeline is so pretty! I love it, too!
BEAUTIFUL, Jocelyn!!! The colors are just gorgeous.
Pretty Pretty Pretty, you would never guess that all those fabrics weren't made for each other from the beginning. Beautiful!
You did an awesome job with your Madeline. Really lovely with your choice of fabrics. Thanks for sharing.
So pretty. I have a stash of Wuthering Heights too.
I love your Madeline!
