Bloggers Quilt Festival

Amy from Amy's Creative Side has done it again :-) She is hosting another virtual Quilt Festival. Have you been to her Quilt Festival's before? Have you participated?? There are so many beautiful quilts on display, and you can view them right from your easy chair. If you are visiting my blog for the first time - Welcome! I hope you will come back again :-)

This is my fourth time participating in the Quilt Festival, and I am excited to share with you one of my Schnibbles quilts.

Last year I joined a year of Schnibbles. What is a Schnibble you ask? Well Schnibbles are little quilts designed by Carrie of Miss Rosie's Quilts. I like making little quilts. They come together fast and are kind of instant gratification. For me they are better then having a tub full of ufo's needing to be quilted. But I digress.......

I loved the patterns and made about six Schnibbles when life became hectic with a move. So as I was thinking about which quilt to share, this one came to mind.

I found this cheddar fabric on a visit to the Olde Green Cupboard in Jacksonville.

The mixture of colors made for a delicious combination.

What I particularly loved about making this quilt was being introduced to a machine quilting method using my walking foot. I followed Mary Mashuta's technique from her book "Foolproof Machine Quilting."

All in all, I was very pleased with the end result.

So may I introduce to you - Cindy Lou Who

Thanks so much for stopping by. I would love it if you would leave a comment. It's sort of like my guest book. And please stop by again. Soon :-)

Happy Quilting and enjoy the Quilt Festival! Thanks Amy!

Jocelyn I LOVE this quilt! The colors are so perfect, I think this is my favorite Schnibble ever, anywhere. Very pleasing to the eye, and it has a vintage feel. It reminds me of a vintage game board!
I'll have to look for that book on quilting, really you used your walking foot?? That book sounds like a must have!

Very cute and bright quilt .Love it ! I have been wanting to get a schibbles book, so far I have not seen one at our shop . I am interested in the walking foot way of machine quilting as I machine quilt all my quilts myself .

I love your version! The cheddar is crisp and yummy. I have not Schnibbled yet but already own a pattern and some charm packs to try one out. Thanks for sharing your quilt's story :)

What a beautiful quilt! Now I'm going to have to go investigate "Foolproof Machine Quilting" and I think a schnibbles quilt would be the perfect size to work on quilting myself :)

It's a lovely quilt. What is so terrific about this quilt festival is that it never would have occurred to me to use that color combination, but it's wonderful! I'm expanding my horizons. :-)

The quilt is wonderful, the sort I'd want to make bigger! I love schnibbles too! And I love your broken arrows below too!

I like your quilt and I like the idea that you are using something you learned recently. ie the Mary Mashuta Machine quilting technique. I have that book and must give it a try.

That is absolutely beautiful... and unique. I can always tell the 'real' quilters by their creative designs. Oh, and cheddar fabric... I had never heard of that before. And the book for foolproof machine quilting... I need to look into that!

As soon as I finish this comment I'm looking up Mary Mashuta. You are right in that your fabric is sweet, and you placed it beautifully.
