Cover up

I used to journal all the time. But in recent years, it has fallen off, mostly due to time constraints and perhaps lack of interest. My son and DIL gave me a book to use for journaling, so I thought I would make a cover.

I cheated a little bit by using pre-quilted fabric I had among my stash.

I also found a suitable coordinating fabric to use for the inside.
It was easy to turn down flaps, and sew the ends.
 Good fit!
And wha-la! The finished journal cover :-)
Using the pre-quilted fabric made this a snap..
Happy Quilting!

Cheating is OK when you are using stash, lol. Your cover is nice. I just can't get into keeping a journal. My life is pretty dull. Also, I have a real issue of not wanting my deepest thoughts to be on paper for anyone to read either now or when I am gone. However I do have a journal with thoughts about creating each Endeavourer Challenge.

What a great project and way to use larger scraps. Pretty too.
Sorry you’ve been under the weather and hope you are pain free very soon. Take care.

Great cover for your new journal. You could also use it to keep track of UFOs, quilt designs, quilts in progress and quilts you want to make. A quilting journal, if you will!!
