My Sewing and Quilting Space

Moda Bake Shop is hosting a Show Off Your Stash linky. While I do not have a quilting "studio" I have been pleased to have a space to call my own.

Here is my little set up -

I store my Quilting books and patterns in this Martha Stewart cabinet that I bought at K Mart years ago.

About a year ago I purchased these wonderful four drawer wire shelves at IKEA.

This has been the BEST investment I made for storing my stash of fabric.

Not only does it allow me to be more organized, I have sorted fabric by color, which makes it easier when I am looking to add something to a project. The fabric stash is housed inside the guest room closet, so it is accessible yet out of the way.

I love seeing sewing spaces. Do you have a special spot where you sew and create?

Lovely, and very neat arrangement! I have those baskets too, and they are the best for finding quickly what you want. Except I sort mine by style - Christmas, Americana, Baby, etc.
Isn't it lovely to be organized?!

Thank you for sharing this. I absolutely love your MS cabinet. The Ikea bins are a great idea. (Our nearest Ikea is something like 450 miles from here, so I've never been in one!)

Hi there, I always love seeing other gals sewing rooms/studios/spaces. Mine looks somewhat like yours but I love your KMart cabinet. I have my stash in the closet-in plastic bins but then sometimes fabric just gets tossed in the closet if I need to pick up quickly. What a mess. I dream of a wonderful sewing cabinet but don't think I'll ever get one.
Thanks for sharing.

LOVING that Martha Stewart piece - and those wire shelves! You are so organized, girl. Everybody needs their own space to create - I remember when I used the kitchen table, and had to clear everything off constantly. So nice to be able to leave things laying out, lol!

I would love to have some of the baskets from IKEA. Those are really nice.

I have a large studio for my paper crafting and have dedicated about a third of it to my quilting. However, with all the aprons I've made for my blog and leaving me with tons of scraps and invading my paper section:-) Must do a scrap quilt one day to deplete the stash!!

Love your sewing space, I used to have a full room but needed a guest bedroom so I have a bed and side cabinet in there now but it's not intrusive. The 'wardrobes' all Ikea cupboards hold my fabric and cross stitching stash. My desk and table are Ikea, my dh loves their furniture so easy to put together and strong. For those who haven't got a local Ikea you can buy online. Thanks for sharing.

You have a great sewing room/studio....area to sew. Gosh, it is sew organized. I appreciate you sharing insights as it gave me a lot of ideas. I love your IKEA organizers too. I'll have to check them out at Ikea and see if I can fit them in my little sewing room.

I don't have a sewing studio either, I sew in my dinning room. But not on the table anymore. Yay!! (I used to want a separate room, but with 7 children and being a home schooling family, I don't think I'd ever get anything sewn!) My husband recently converted an old dresser into a sewing cabinet for me and I'm in love with it!!

I really like those wire baskets!! I've never been to an IKEA, seeing that the closest one is over 300 miles away from us, but I sure do want to go! I love sorting by color, too!!
