Not only was the basket filled to the brim with thread, there was a little zippy bag with all kinds of odds and ends. Cute little embroidery scissors, as well as vintage buttons.
Finding more treasures is so much fun!
P.S. Yesterday Jocelyn Thurston {Canadian Needle Nana} wrote on her blog about no reply bloggers. It seems if you have Google plus you might not be able to leave a comment on that persons blog. I tried to respond to Jocelyn, but I would have to sign up for Google Plus and I don't really want to do that. I have had many comments from peeps who, when I try to respond, it shows as no reply blogger. So very sorry that Google has made it difficult to respond to a comment. I hope Jocelyn sees this post, and know that some of us are reading, but cannot even leave a comment on her blog.

I love your little sewing basket! I found one several years ago in Arizona. It was missing a couple of the feet & my dad fixed it and I love it so much! great find! good for you
Oh, I love finds like that! love love love it!
I've dealt with this a lot on my blog. I really would like to respond, but, can't. I'm lucky that some of my frequent commentors (no-reply), I have their email addresses, so, I can reply to them, and, also, if they are Google+, I can send them a comment. The same lady who you mention, has left several comments on my blog, too.
Great sewing box.
I gave google plus away. It was too hard. I'm happy with the way I am.
Great find.
Google+ is such a pain and they really need to give up the ghost They tried to compete with Facebook and they aren't even close. I made the mistake of having my blog connected to Google+ for about 5 minutes. Big mistake! Never again! I try and try to tell people to change their settings so they aren't a no-reply. I am giving up on that, too. I will attempt to find an email for a few minutes only. If I can't find one, I simply don't respond to their comments. I feel bad, but there is only so much time in the day.
Hi Jocelyn, you are so right...that is a magnificent find...I would have loved it. Thanks for commenting on the no reply nonsense; I just wish these designers would work this out somehow instead of competing for our accounts. Meanwhile, thanks for reading and I do have my email address there at the end of my profile so if the spirit moves you, I'd love to chat. I will always read your enjoyable posts.
That is an amazing find - the basket and the contents. I am also looking at the number of wooden cotton reels in there as well. They are hard to find.
That is a treasure!
Darling sewing basket!! I love all the goodies inside too! I'm also unable to comment on Jocelyn's blog, I have her email and am able to reply to her when she comments, thank goodness. I adore her blog. I really hate google+, I tried it for a few minutes and gave it up.
I too shared a post about my thrift store finds. I haven't been to one in awhile, so I see another thrift store run soon! Great items that you found!
