Staying in touch

All summer long I have been sending cards to my little grandchildren that live across the bay.

I asked my son if they enjoyed receiving mail, as they are only 4 and 2 1/2. He said they did.  So I bought up some fun cards from the Dollar store and have been sending them one a week.

It's been really sad that we cannot be with them, their mom and dad too. But my little granddaughter will tell her dad that she wants to talk with me. So we do Facetime and we chat for a bit. She always asks me "What are you doing Grandma?" And I tell her, I'm talking with you :-)

Let's hope things will soon be back to normal so we can enjoy our families.

I know exactly what you mean. I think we've all had enough of this now and the controversy that came with it. But for us older folk, will have to stay the course. I get to watch grandson when he comes for a swim...from a distance. Sigh.

Oh, before we moved to CA to be closer the my grandson and his family we used to live for a phone call or FB post so I know exactly how you feel. I used to send a box to the kids every month with just a little surprise in it. They loved getting mail and I loved the pics my grandson sent of them opening their surprises.
xx, Carol

Skype is a wonderful thing. So is Marco Polo app. Our son can send videos of the grands (in Alaska) to us, and we can comment on them the next morning, when we see them (3 hour time difference).
