Blog Hop Party and giveaway

Are you ready to party?? Did you know that the Quilt Gallery is celebrating their 4th anniversary with a Blog Hop??

So today I am hosting a giveaway and I'd love for you to sign up. What am I giving away??

I was asked to review Jennifer Chiaverini's new book "The Wedding Quilt" and was given a copy to share with you. Now if you have never read any of the Elm Creek Quilts novels, this is the book for you. Let me tell you why. This book has a great story line, but it also interweaves the history of the Elm Creek Quilters and many of the previous stories are recapped throughout. It doesn't leave you guessing as to who is who, and what is what. I've read several in the series, but I've missed some, so I was able to catch up and keep going as the story unravels through the history of the Quilters. There is also a surprise at the

I am including a tote that I made for you to use as a book bag, or whatever you want. Just leave a comment on this post. Although it's not a requirement for entry, I would really love to know why you blog. I will close the giveaway in a week. Please be sure that I have a way to contact you if you are the winner.

Thanks so much for stopping by. And if you are a new visitor, I hope you will come back again.

Happy Quilting!

I started my blog after some gentle persuasion from another blogger. I never had any intention of doing one, but now I am so glad I did. I have made so many friends and I would tell anyone who hasn't got one to go a head ..... it's such good fun!

I love giveaways too. And I really like to take part in yours. I blog because it is a good way of keeping contact with my quilting friends. And I also can show what I make to my family, as all of them live a long way from me. Happy weekend!

Thanks for this giveaway! I started blogging because I thought it would be a nice way to keep record of all the things I make while showing them and sharing tips at the same time. I discovered a whole world after this and I love it. I don't have as much time as I used to but hopefully I'll never stop!

Love the little bag! I first began to blog because I have too much information running around in my head when I go to bed...honestly!! I write most of my blogs in my head at night then post them in the morning. Now, I blog because I love all the quilters I meet!

I started my blog because I wanted to learn more computer skills. But I met an entire new community, made friends, get inspiration, and and also use mine as my scrapbook.

I've never read any of the quilters books out there. I would love to, though. =)

I started my quilting blog (I have two blogs) so I could keep track of what I was making and what I wanted to make. Having a central theme (quilting/sewing) makes it much easier to blog. My first blog, is more of a family, random thoughts blog and it's much harder to blog on that one, but I hate to let it go.

Thanks for the giveaway!!

I started blogging like so man others just to show my stuff and keep track of what I am making.
but honestly now I do it for the fun folks I meet. Really I have gone to a retreat with folks I only ever met on blogs, gone to a blog friends house, exchanged blocks, made quilts to donate to charity, traveled and laughed with joy.....I even have a trip planned in the Spring to meet up with some bloggers at a Gee's Bend retreat. Now is that fun or what?

thanks so much for the chance to win :0)

(Oh yeah bloggers have such generous giveaways too)

Happy Sewing and Merry Christmas,

I blog to share my quilting and to meet new friends. Being a young quilter in a rural area, there were very few with similar interests. Blogging opened up a whole new world of young quilters to me. I guess now, 7 years later, we're middle aged quilters, but who's counting. I just enjoy the social interaction of sharing and visiting other blogs.

I love your little bag so much... super cute... and a good book is always a nice "retreat". I was so happy that blogging came into my life. I do enjoy Jennnifer Chiavarini's books and I love the tote you made. For me, blogging was started as a friend who also quilts (and has since become my quilting partner) encouraged me to start...even though I thought it was hard and I'd not be able to do it. I have enjoyed it a lot and have "met" a lot of nice quilters...and even got to meet several of them in person now (a few years after I started my blog). It is a good way to show projects I've made and also to get help and advice, when needed, from others who understand my questions!

I am very new at blogging! I started about a year or so ago but maybe 1 or 2 posts a year. I was more involved in moderating an online quilting group called Quilters Passion on Eons. This summer I joined the Charlotte Modern Quilt Guild and the gal who started it was real big on blogging. She even went to a retreat to learn more about it. That really made me curious and so I have plunged in quickly formatting my profile page. Now I just want to make new quilting friends, learn what the latest and greatest is in the world of quilting and share with others what I am doing. It's just fun! and I am enjoying my second childhood here. Now I am experiencing the huge give away party. I have been tantalized and can hardly believe that I have spend so much time on my computer visiting all these wonderful quilters' blogs. Oh by the way the book and bag are such nice gifts. I have read all of Jennifer Chiaverini'a books thus far and have met her in person when she visited the Charlotte Quilters Guild a couple years ago. She signed one of my books. Well thank you for allowing me to share.

I've read the first couple of Elm Creek books, they were great! I don't have a blog myself, but I am an avid participant in blog land. I have so enjoyed connecting with people, sharing work, doing swaps and sometimes just reading and enjoying others.

Oh I love the Elm Creek series. I started blogging to track my progress on a challenging quilt I was making but I continue to blog because of all the inspiration I find and all the wonderful quilters around the world that I have met! Thanks!

I blog to have an outlet for where to show people "what" I do. Quilting is not an art that is not practiced a lot any more. Although sense I have started blogging I have found many great quilting blogs like this one.

I blog because I love to meet new people, share ideas and the net makes the world so small. I can reach anyone with the touch of my fingers.

Thanks for the giveaway opportunity--I've read most of the other books in the series but not that one, and it's a lovely tote! I blog because I enjoy writing and I love the conversations that occur when folks leave comments. I consider my blog and my podcast both conversations with lots of talented quilters who can all teach one another--and are fun to hang out with, to boot!

I blog so others can know what I have been up to. It is also a way of keeping my typing skills, which I learned in High School in 1956.

I don't blog, yet. I read quilting blogs way, way, too much. I've found that now I need reading glasses. So I can keep up to date on my favorites. I've learned so much from blogs, tutorials, patterns, lots of humor and that I'm not alone in my obsession. ;->

Oh and I blog because I enjoy sharing my art and also because I enjoy creative writing. Although sometimes I think I am talking to walls. Anyway it's fun and enjoy reading what others are doing.

I started blogging before Facebook, so it was a way to share photos of my work and other photos with friends near and far. I'm also currently using the blag as an aid in the search for 4 missing quilts, 2 of mine and 2 that belong to Sarah Ann Smith of Maine.

I'd love to read The Wedding Quilt. I just made one for my son and daughter-in-love. It has 100 handwritten and signed blocks with words of wisdom from all of our friends. Sashing in 1 inch with cornerstones and bound top and bottom with a row of hearts. :)
Love the colors you used on the bag.
I hope you have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! :)
Thank you for the opportunity to win such a nice giveaway.

What a delightful bag and it would be a nice chance to sit a put my feet up and read an interesting novel and I could share it with my Mum..a budding quilter, too. My sister recently gave us a copy of the movie, How to make an American Quilt to encourage our interest which was a nice experience.
