I agree that we are losing too many quilt shops. For years we had 18-19 shops in my area, but we are down to 5 and a couple of those will probably not be open in 2-3 years (owners are aging out). I'm glad you have such a nice quilt shop near you. Looks very inviting. And, let's not forget Quilters need to remember to shop local to support the quilt shops in their area too!
Wow! Those quilts are really awesome! You are right about quilt shops closing. The nearest one to me is about an hour away. There were two more there, but they have closed down. The only thing close to me is Walmart and I have heard that they are only going to sell packaged fabrics. It is really a shame.
it is good that you still have one - we have not had a local quilt shop (and by that I mean within 100 miles or so) in years. Everyone we had closed and it always seemed that was because the shop owner didn't know how to run and business and had poor customer relations. I have gotten so I love quilt fabric shopping on line and going to a show every year or so - it has probably helped to control my spending as well.
