Another special week, joining Kim from Shabby, Pink and Pretty and the other ladies on sharing Teacup Tuesday.
Today's teacup was a special gift from my daughter's room mate when she lived in the Windy City.
This pretty little delicate teacup has no markings on the bottom, but it appears to be either German or Bavarian. It is so thin you can see right through the cup.
As a matter of fact, it was so thin that when I opened this lovely teacup, it was in a hundred pieces! I was so disappointed because as you can see, it appears to be handpainted.
So I sat down one day and with my tube of 527 I started painstakingly piecing this sweet cup back together. It took many hours, and of course it is not usable for drinking tea, but it is lovingly on display on a shelf.
Please stop by Kim's blog and see what she is sharing today. She will also list the other ladies who are joining in on the fun. Thank you Kim for allowing me to showcase some of my favorite teacups out of my collection.

Man did you glue that tea cup back to perfection. I love the Tea Cup Tuesday. I recently bought a stand to display some of my grandmothers tea cups...Another thing we have in common! And what is that book I see in the background my friend? Curious minds want to know.

That is a very lovely teacup and it doesn't look put together in the photo. You did a great job!
I would have never known it was fixed, good job! I'm glad you saved this beauty! Happy Teacup Tuesday!
Wow you did a great repair job, I didn't even notice but how sad to open the package and find it broken. It's wonderful that you saved it

Translucent teacups are my favorite, like Belleek. This is definitely a Bavarian/German hand painted cup. Beautiful. TTFN ~ Marydon
Wow, you did a wonderful job patching up your teacup! I couldn't tell it. After reading about the repair job you did I even enlarged the pic and couldn't see the repairs.
It's beautiful! I love the unique shape and dainty hand painting.
What a lil pretty it is!!! I could not tell it was repaired at all.
I know I would have cried on opening that!!!
I soon will be all out of teacups to show will have to do pots next... ha!!
What a lovely teacup. The shape of it is not one I have ever seen before. I love the floral pattern on it also. I couldn't believe when I read your story that it had broken into so many pieces. I'm so glad you were able to piece it back together so you could still enjoy having it on display. It was definately worth the time and effort it took you to do that.
Thanks for sharing!!
I love that you took the time to put this cup back together...that's love...do you do tea cup quilts as well? would they be your favorite?
It is a beautiful little cup. It is a wonder you could save it. What a sweet story!
