The Painted Quilt is an amazing artist and has shared her passion for scissors! Yep that's right, scissors. I don't think I have quite the collection of scissors as Karren has, but mine is pretty healthy.
You see it all started with this little one -

I was with my Mom once, when I was young, and we were shopping somewhere. I saw some kind of kit, and these little scissors were in it. I've had these scissors for over 40 years. They are marked JA Henckels/Germany.
This is a pair that belonged to my Mom.

And as time went on, I started picking up scissors here and there.

So a pair of scissors for every occasion! Sewing, crafting, scrapbooking, card making........ cloth scissors, paper scissors, manicure scissors, hairdresser scissors, the list could go on.

So how many scissors do YOU have?

Wow! Great stories & pictures. I have no idea how many....but a bunch for sure!
I would never have thought scissors could look so attractive, but what a fun post! I am sure I have that many and more. My favorite pair is my 30 year old Wiss pinking shears with the black handles.
Phew, you have a serious scissor habit! What fun thanks for this post LOL
My collection would look very similar to yours, only the ones in the picture though - not many more than that.
That is alot of scissors...but I don't think I have as many as that but when you need a pair of scissors they are never to be found or they are by the ironing board and you are in your room, or visa versa....can never have enough!!
What a lovely assortment you have! I have one pair of fabric scissors, two pinking shears, two surgical pair from my aunt [the nurse], and 3 embroidery pairs - one with the little stork that are my favorite, they're SO sharp.
I probably don't have as many as you but I heard of a woman once when after she died her house was cleaned out and they found 57 scissors and a bed behind all the boxes of fabric in a spare room. Great legacy, don't you think.
Jocelyn,
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I certainly don't have as many scissors as you have! That's an impressive collection...

Forgot to say, I love your description of yourself!
I remember Kaaren posting her scissors and knew then I didn't have near as many and also wondered who would? Today's post I received that answer!! WOW...that is a lot of scissors!
Oh my gosh! I have 3 pairs of sewing scissors and 3 pair in the kitchen.. but of those only 1 really works. Everyone in this house knows you don't use my sewing scissors under any circumstance.
Wow! I'm impressed--what a collection! How nice to have such a variety when you need them!
Well Jocelyn, I think I might win the scissors numbers game but you sure win for the most colorful...hands down!
All you need now is a flower frog to display them all. I think there's an organization for people like us. Maybe we should attend the meeting together...and then go scissor shopping afterward! LOL
Probably about 10 pairs, that would include 2 pair of pinking shears, 1 pair rag quilt scissors, 3 pair of embroidery scissors, 3 regular Fiscar scissors, 1 machine embroidery scissors. And of course scrapbook type scissors, I don't even know, I think about 7 of those. You need scissors for paper, others that are only for fabric, etc. I have all of these scissors and I still look at them when I go to Joanns. Good question. Kaaren's right you do have a colorful collection.
That was a fun post - a cut above the rest! lol
Well I don't have that many but I do need a few more after looking at your collections!
LOL you do have a lot of scissors. I have 9 assorted ones for sewing and cutting out templates, one for kitchen use and 3 white handled cheapies that are the only ones Bob is allowed to touch LOL.
Crispy
Lots!! I don't think I can count that high, but my favorite are the Gingher's that I bought when I had a gift card to JoAnn's. They are wonderful!!! I didn't really think there was much difference in different scissors. I was wrong!
I really have no idea how many pairs I have. You've inspired me to go count them up! Or maybe I shouldn't . . .
