Virtual Christmas Cookie Exchange

Welcome! Today is my day for the annual Virtual Christmas Cookie Exchange. Thank you to Carol from Just Let Me Quilt for organizing this every year. It is fun to get new yummy cookie recipes and inspiration for a new fabric craft.  I have a craft and a cookie recipe to share!

I have shared this on my blog before, but if you are visiting for the first time, I hope you will enjoy this fun and easy idea.

A couple of years ago I made these cute little snowmen for the children of some friends.  There's a full size Hershey bar wrapped under the snowman.  The hats are a pair of inexpensive children's gloves. Or you can make your own with fabric. You can also use scraps for the wrap, but I used a little bit of flannel and shagged the ends. I think this is one of the cutest little gifties for someone young and old :-)

You can find a link for the template HERE.
(p.s. be sure to turn the template to the Landscape position before printin
g)

Now for my cookie recipe.

Chewy Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookies

4 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups softened butter
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 1/4 firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 cups (12 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips or M& M's

Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt.  Set aside

Combine butter, sugar, brown sugar. Beat until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla. Continue beating until well mixed.

Gradually add dry mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.

Drop dough by 1/4 cupful's, 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake for 10-14 minutes or until light golden brow.

(I use M & M's instead of chocolate chips)

These cookies bake up so large and delicious.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you will come again. Enjoy!

Those little gloves make the cutest hats! A fun gift idea for any age, I think! You can't go wrong with M&Ms and cookies - yum!

Those snowmen are adorable! Are they meant to the gift wrapping? Or are the mittens meant to be used? Either way it's a wonderful presentation.

I love those snowmen! What a great way to give a small gift that is cute, yummy, and useful, too. The cookies look so festive and would definitely fill my tummy with joy. Thanks for sharing, Jocelyn! P.S. I tried to pin your pics to Pinterest but it wouldn't let me. Blogger has been frustrating the last few days.

Your Hershey bar wraps are adorable and what a great idea . I always give the grandbabies gloves in their stockings; this would be a great way to gift them. Yum on the cookies. Can't go wrong with M &M's . Merry Christmas

The snowman IS cute and what child wouldn't like warm fingers and chocolate? The cookies might be the only other thing they'd like, and they are perfectly wonderful looking cookies! If I can find M&Ms that aren't chocolate, or chips that aren't, I may still find time to try these. If my oven thermostat will work one more time. LOL

Adorable! Makes me wish for some grand kids so I could make cute stuff for them, but alas it hasn't happened (yet) and chocolate wouldn't be good for my grand dogs. Merry Christmas!
