Today I am again joining Kim on Teacup Tuesday. She has so many very beautiful teacups, and has been sharing them for several weeks.
My teacup was purchased last week when we traveled to mid Georgia. It was found at one of our last stops on the way home.
I always keep an eye out for a pretty new teacup when we travel. This one caught my eye. It is "Dolly Madison" by Castleton China made in USA!
I have never seen Castleton China before. Come to find out that Castleton was commissioned during the World War by Rosenthal China of Germany to produce Rosenthal shapes and patterns. In 1951 Shenango Pottery purchased all the stock of the Castleton China Co from Rosenthal. In 1970 production of Castleton China was stopped. In 1979 Shenango China Company was bought by Anchor Hocking Corporation.
Many sets of Castleton China were commissioned for the White House as a state service.
I so enjoy my teacups. It has been fun to find so many different and beautiful cups. My favorites are those made in England. I don't normally come across U.S.A. fine china. So this one is a special teacup to add to my collection.
Enjoy your day!
And then there is fleece...

Happy Teacup Tuesday! That is a lovely cup, so elegant with a simple pink rose! Just love it!
Treasure anything that is stamped in USA. I prefer the English tea cups but this is an exceptional design ...

I love the rose! I should take a closer look at my mother-in-laws teacup collection. I think I'm finally "adult" enough to play with them.
Waht a pretty tea cup !!!
I think I will post one today too...;-)
I am lucky to have what I do as I lost some to breakage in a move.
Hi Jocelyn,
Love, love, love your pretty new teacup. There is nothing more perfect than a beautiful teacup that has roses on it. What a great find for you.
I'm so looking forward to seeing more of your teacup collection in the coming weeks. Thanks so much for joining me for Teacup Tuesdays!!
Take care and have a great week.
Kim

On Mother's Day, my daughter used to have a Mother's Day Tea Party, where all the invitees wrapped up a special tea cup for a gift exchange. That was so much fun. She couldn't do her party this year because she is in the middle of moving house. Maybe next year....
Hi Happy Cottage Quilter - oooh I see your Moda Roman Holiday fabric at the top of your blog - very nice. Sounds like you had a wonderful trip up to GA.
Love your teacup, something I love see and think about all the ladies that have drank tea from them.
I love your tea cup. What a fun thing to collect.
Lovely!
I have a ton of my Mother in laws old teacups. They came from her mother that worked at a florist years ago. My mother in law would be 91 now so you can imagine how old these are. I'll have to start showing mine too. How fun.
I see teacups and think of my mom, that one is a nice one. I like the simple rose on it.
Oooo pretty!! I love teacups...just don't collect them but I always stop and look.
