Let me first say that I have had a wonderful time visiting so many fellow quilters/bloggers on the first Bloggers Quilt Festival! It has been so much fun seeing everyones quilts and creations. And thank you all for the very sweet comments either here or sent to my email. I love hearing from each one of you. I hope there will be another one next year. If we can't show our quilts in a National Quilt show, this is definitely the next best thing.
Karen over at the Selvage Blog asked how we store/save our selvages. I was saving them in a zippy bag, but found a nice little clear plastic container to serve that purpose now.
My selvage collection is not very large at the moment, but it is growing. If I really needed more selvages, I could certainly cut some from my stash.
But right now I am too attached to the fabrics as they are in their pristine state :-)

thank for your kind comment! ciao ciao from italy
your getting a great collection!! i've started saving mine too, after seeing all the fun projects that can be made with them. :)
I have always thrown mine away and I am not going to do that anymore. I also am too attached to my fabrics and hate to cut them. I also enjoyed all First Annual Bloggers Quilt Festival. It got me to look at a lot of other people's sites. So many talented people out there.
I really liked your jacket.... even if you live in Florida.... bet it still comes in handy. Your stash looks very nicely organized.... and fun to look at.
Oh, your stash makes me melt. I LOVE it. It would be so nice to have some shelfs that were just for my material.
I have a wee collection - shall we say stashette - of selvages because I can't bear to throw them away. Some have such beautiful names and I've used the names in the quilt titles. So good to know I'm not the only selvage pack rat!
I have also started saving my selvages. There are so many great projects on the blogs using them. I just love, love, love your jacket. Not being a garment sewer I am in awe!!!!
Great idea about the selvages. I had so much fun with the quilt festival too.

I have a big pile of selvages too. I just throw them in a shoebox under my dresser. Any idea what you're going to do with yours? I don't know what to do with mine, so I wondered. They sure are fun to look at.
I have a love of selvages, too. They make up for some cute projects!! If you would like for me to save my selvages as time goes on (and when I get back into sewing again) just let me know. My email is www.sweetcottagedreams1@comcast.net
I can save them up and mail them to you.
Have a lovely day!

Ohhh your stash is so neat and organized ...good for you!
When I first started quilting, just over a year ago now, I encountered a woman trying to collect enough selvages to make a quilt from them, so all mine are stored in a flat rate envelope until they're plum full and then I send them off.
