Today is Teacup Tuesday and Kim from Shabby Pink and Pretty has a list of gals who are participating.
This teacup is from a Nortake China set that belonged to my hubby's aunt. She gave this teacup to my daughter. The pattern is Lauritz. I think it is interesting that the cup was actually made in Japan, but on the back it say "U.S. Design Pat applied for".
My dear hubby's aunt has been such a blessing to our family. She never had any children of her own, but she became kind of a grandma to my children. We always enjoyed doing things together and she was always so much fun to be with. She is 93 years old now and her memory is failing, but she still knows who we are :-)

That is a lovely teacup. I have an aunt who also never had any children...I have been very close to her also. It is so nice to have family pieces isn't it?
Very pretty cup! My daughter used to host a Mother's Day Tea where all the ladies would bring a wrapped tea cup to trade. It was so much fun!

How pretty is that! I have ONE teacup, yep, one. It belonged to my grandmother on my first dad's side. She died when I was six, and my aunt saved it for me.
It is wonderful to have special pieces in ones home that will bring a smile & blessed treasured moment of that person ... I am surrounded with memories & love each item. Love the teacup. TTFN ~Marydon
Very pretty. A sweet treasure for your daughter. I too had Great Aunt Mary and my paternal Aunt Alma who had no children. I was honored to be given the wonderful family treasures from them along with love.

I like that teacup....how nice that your daughter was given that by your aunt.
Lovely. I should start to do Tuesay teacup too, although I only have about 6 or so. My sister offered to let me have about 6 more that were my mom's but I had no safe way to get them home on the airplane. The ones I have are from my husband's grandmother.
Beautiful. You ladies who are picturing your gorgeous tea cups inspired me to picture some of my beautiful vintage linens, etc... Check out my newest post.
Lovely teacup Jocelyn. The pattern is so pretty and I love the soft shades of blue and yellow. You are very lucky to have such a beautiful teacup in your collection.
