Souvenirs

This weekend, I took an unexpected trip with my dear hubby. He had planned an out of town trip, and I thought I would tag along and find some new quilt shops and antique malls.

Now when we go out of town, we sometimes like to pick up souvenirs from the areas that we visit. I think I mentioned once before that my daughter found a lovely teacup when we visited Canada several years ago. Sometimes I just pick a vintage treasure, or a unique piece of fabric.

But this trip was different. Because you see, THIS is the souvenir that I brought home with me this time.

Yep, this was my memento of our trip! All of the plans that I had, of going to two quilt shops, two antique malls went down the drain when I missed the curb and turned my foot and went down, down, down :-(

And you know what else I discovered during this trip. I found out that when you can't go anywhere, and you are stuck in a hotel room with an ice pack on your foot, you are hungry all the time! Did you know that?? I could not believe it! I mean, what else is there to do??

So how was your weekend?

Wow...sounds like my kind of trip. I come home with that souvenier so much I own my own pair. Lately, the DRs have been putting braces on me and telling me to walk at whatever pace is necessary...but to walk on it.

Oh dear...what a disappointment for all your wonderful plans! I hope you are on the mend real soon and that it's not too serious of an injury!!!

I'm sorry to hear your plans were not as you had imagined. I broke my ankle last December and was bedridden for a couple of months before I could hop around one level of our house. It's only been in the last month that I've been able to put a regular shoe on... and that's pushing it. Rest and don't try to push it, you don't want to reinjure yourself. Watch a lot of videos, read books, and maybe some hand sewing.

So sorry to hear of your misfortune, but I know how it feels. I did it two years ago while visiting my sister in North Dakota. It was tough getting home on the plane! :)) Hope you feel better soon!

MOM!!! *my oh my* What you won't do for attention ... chuckle! Sweet Jocelyn, you & my DH should get together ... he wound up in emergency just BEFORE we left town, TG! Stitches, yucky stuff. Hope you are feeling better & heal quickly.

My hat(s) ... well, that's what happens when I get out of this 'cage' ... I find something to have fun with. Chuckle! It was great ... wait until you see the others I played with.

Hugs, Marydon

ACK! You poor thing! The last time I tangled with a curb, I missed with both feet and landed on my right cheek - uh, on my face. Take really good care of yourself - just sit, don't try to walk on it. I hope you're back to normal soon!
And yes, I can imagine being hungry all the time when you're bored. And room service can add up fast!

I feel for you...I broke my ankle back in May and was in a walking boot for six weeks,I think sprains sometimes feel like they take longer to heal. This will be a good time to catch up on reading, hand stitching and list-making{of the many projects you'd like to do}
Many good wishes for a speedy recovery!

So sorry to hear about your fall. Hope you are on a quick road to recovery. Ever since I saw you teacup pictures, I've kept my eye out for one in a local consignment shop. Maybe I'll find a nice one for you soon.
